Changes to Central City Vets After-Hours Emergency Care

To all of our valued clients,

Some of you may be aware that there is currently a significant shortage of veterinarians in New Zealand, and Central City Vets are unfortunately one of the many clinics affected.

Over the last couple of years our vets have been working increasingly longer and busier days, as well as dealing with cases outside normal hours, often being called back for long periods throughout the night. It has now reached the point that this work-load is no longer sustainable or healthy for our vets.

For us to continue to do our best for you, and for the wellbeing of our team, we are having to make some changes. From 11am Sunday 5th June after-hours emergency care for our clients will now be provided by Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital, 1450 Cameron Road, Greerton, in Tauranga, phone 07 220 9775.

Bay After Hours Veterinary Hospital are well established and set up specifically for dealing with after-hours and emergency cases and have a team on site to help you during the hours we are not available.

This change has been a difficult decision for us, and one that we have not made lightly. With most other Rotorua Vet clinics already using the Bay After Hours service, we had hoped we could avoid doing the same, and continue to always look after our clients ourselves. However, with no end in sight to the shortage of veterinarians, we simply cannot continue to provide 24-hour emergency service on top of the heavy and increasing case load during normal clinic hours.
